Screen printing//PART II. For supplies, Anthem Screen Printing is our all time fav. Friendly/knowledgeable staff. Althou screen printing isn't rocket science, but much like coffee brewing: patience and precision paid off. We had setup a tiny dark room and image exposure station @ our Oakland studio. In short, we luv to be hands on and experiment the possibilities. We print posters, postcards, exclusive graphics on our canvas bag & denim. Next time, hit us a note before you order; if time allows (& if you ask nicely.., we will try to print something special for you.)
Till next week, cheers everyone!

Screen printing//PART I. We do screen printing in house, sometimes more than sewing. Our denim package is made w/ an unprimed raw 10oz. canvas, a perfect surface to print. Designed and printed here locally in Oakland. More on printing in the forthcoming Part II.
Till next week, cheers everyone!

Whisky thoughts. While Nikka whisky is re-structuring their entire lineup, we will certainly miss the white label (http://www.nikka.com/eng/products/blended/fromthebarrel.html) & the single malt Yochi.
Much like denim, we love the obsessions and dedications behind these liquid gold craft. That sip of Yamazaki 25yr always transform us back to the origin of why we started: to craft something exceptional in a tranquil state and wishing our ideals can be shared by many.
Interestingly, we were asked by Kapok earlier: if Doublewood was a cocktail, what would that be. Read our thoughts here:

When we are not sketching/sewing or conversing with denimheads, we are constantly exploring the SF ever-changing 'foodscape'. From the uber exquisite Saison (arm & leg splurge) to the arguably-equally-quintessential la taqueria. We are down for all kinds of great culinary experiences.
For casual (pricey) comfort food w/ a twist, our default jt. is State Bird Provisions San Francisco. Asides from its nationwide accolades and celeb spotting; SBP serves new wave Californian fares in a tapas/dim sum cart setting. Beef tongue w/ horseradish & buckwheat pancake got an unanimous vote from us trio.
While there's not much trick to cut the line (we once read someone tried to bride the hostess w/ a Bill Murray collect card: very nice try, no dice thou =)), persistence is typically the key. Either you wake up at 6am and reserve online 3 months ahead, OR you can try getting there at 5pm on a weekday, hang at either The Social Study or Karaoke next door, come back to join their last round of service.
We def prefer the latter.
Big shout out to the SBP team & we are super grateful to have amazingly eclectic food choices in SF.
till next week, cheers everyone!
p.s. The Progress next door from the same team is great, but we love SBP better. love the interior thou. chk out the story here:

p.p.s. we haven't been to the Lazy Bear yet, but its always on our agenda! anyone been??

Doublewood's first non-feline friday post, pretty exciting already yea? (lol)
before you head to the beach, or the wild, or wherever ur secret potion is; here are a few things we enjoyed at the moment:
how to be idle (luv the concept: being a genuine idler is truly difficult!) / a translated jp cookbook primarily for men (simple seasonal recipes beyond the mere survival feed / apple music (their curation so far is surprisingly gd, jumping ship from spotify) / juul (e-cig isn't gd for the body, yea we know. but we are also sucker for great design, highly rec if u need sleek quick fag fix) / owl beer (jp hitachino, this one doesn't req explanation, i guess?)
p.s. we will be catching the International Champion Cup tmr, any soccer fans here?
p.p.s. came across this awesome marble phone case from N.U, luv it. great work guys.
